Driscoll-Weyerhauser House

This impressive home was built by the original owner of the Pioneer Press Frank Driscoll. Frank Driscoll bought the property in 1884 demolished the home that was there and built his new mansion for $25,000.

This is a classic Queen Anne home with classic features of a High Victorian. Victorian homes are known for having towers and radiating wings. Stone and pressed brick are common in high Victorian and Gothic architecture and will last many lifetimes.

266 Summit was designed by architect Williams Willcox in a High Victorian style. Frank Driscoll moved to Chicago in 1900 and the home was purchased by lumber baron Frederick Weyerhauser.

Today the beautiful home is part of the Historic Hill district on Summit Avenue in St Paul Minnesota. The home has been used for different organizations over the years and today it is used as a private residence.
